M.I.A. talks about not selling out, staying true to herself

M.I.A. is one of the baddest girls on the block – her rhymes are always laced with real political messages. In a recent interview with The New York Times, she talked about how staying true to herself is the most important thing.

“Everybody else is praised and had No. 1 hits. They got to buy the yachts and have the mansions, because they didn’t include the politics in their work. That’s fine,” she said.

“I believe in knowledge,” she told The New York Times.
